Arrow Forced Induction 101

Turbo, Super Charger, or NOS??? Which way should I go guys? I've been debating between swaping the 951 engine in mine, but I've also thought about a Super Charger, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

hey gearhead,
Id go supercharger.....well thats what i AM going with! lol. but it is constant power that will be there where as nos wont. NOS is the easiest one to do, but isnt doing any good very often. have fun

If you MUST do it - just remember for the price, you could have just bought a 951 - but if you must do it, I would go with supercharging. People seem to be genuinely impressed with the low-end and constant torque. Not only that, but as far as I can tell, it is also the cheapest route.

I would stay away from nitrous. I've heard a lot about blown engines... the 944 can only handle somewhere like a 70 shot.

I'm not a big NOS guy, cheap power but it blows stuff up. I like the turbo idea because it's more effecient, and there it is easier to get more power out of. Plus, they sound sooo awesome. Superchargers are just cheap and easy. how long will the 87 944 n/a motor take 8 psi before having problems? If I go with a super I would go with the speedforceracing.com stage II, I'm interested in the stage III but they don't have anything written about it yet.

Turbo would be so nice if someone could design a head with both intake and exhaust ports on the same side of the head!!!!! (Plumbing!!)

Here's a new thought, what if I were to turbo the N/A motor? Is it possible? hmmm... what if I were to get the turbo and the ECU and all the plumbing?

it is possible, many have done it, but it is pricey. You have to get a new tranny along with many other misc. engine parts. Not really worth it...

How pricey is pricey? I'm trying to find a new tranny right now, so I could just get the 951 tranny or preferrably the 968. What all needs to be done to convert it? What parts will I all need?
