Turn Signal

I have a 83-944 and need to replace the complete turn signal. To replace the front turn signal, I can get to the outside screw holding the turn signal but the other screw is behind the black rubber that is on the bumper. Do I need to remove the entire bumper to get the turn signal off?

It's been my experience that you have to remove the bumper to get the whole assembly out. There are 2 nuts that hold it in there i think. Unless you have access to a lift, you may find yourself on your back removing the bumper. It's not that bad actually. Just alot of squeezing your hands into small spaces. You may also have to remove your front valence to get to the bumper bolts.
The whole job can be done with a ratchet, 10mm socket, 10mm wrench and a 19mm socket

Take off the 2 bolts holding the front bumper onto the bumper shocks from underneath, then take off the rubber pad on the side of the turn signal that you need to replace, then replace and put back together

You need to remove the bumper as there are two screws behind it. Just make sure you unplug the lights as you remove the bar I use an extra person for this just make it easyer. There are only 2 bolts that need to be removed access is from under the bar.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for all you help. I started to remove the bumper over the weekend but stopped due to cold weather. It was 10 degrees F when I started, but decided to end the project and determine if there was an easier way. I'll remove the bumper, work on it inside then brave the cold and reinstall it.
