924S Fresh Air Fan

The fresh air fan is not working on any setting, AC works great. Tested relay number III and it checked out fine. Little hesitant to tear into the resisters since most posts indicate that they are only a problem when the system still operates on low or high speeds.

Checked all the fuses, they look good. Currently at the point where I will start throwing new relays at the problem. The intermittent setting on the the wipers stopped working recently, wonder if this relay could have anything to do with the fresh air problem?

Same as mine.

I did some searching and the problem is in the ground circuit for the fresh air fan (not AC).

One member rerouted the fresh air fan ground but did not elaborate how.

Someday....

Have not done a continuity test, will do that next or bring power direct to the fan to see if it operates.

When mine quit, it was the switch. Removed, cleaned, replaced, works great.

Thanks John, I have the 924S electrical drawing and it calls out a fresh air relay and a fuse. From previous posts the relay should be # III and the fuse is #9.

My next task is to test the fresh air switch, the one with 0, 1,2 & 3. The problem is that it looks like the entire console needs to be be removed because it has some sort of clip on the back, just was not up for that yesterday.

If that checks out will need to bring a 12 volt source to the motor and see if that works.
The fresh air blower motor shroud on the has one fastener on the front and is held down by adhesive on the 924S.

Sounds like this job has a potential to be a hassle, and may have to be put on the back burner until this winter.

The two 7mm screws (I think) are a little bit of a pain to get out, other than that, it's not difficult.
