Correct oil seal for front of engine behind pulley?

So. I am looking for the correct oil seal behind the front pulley to replace it since I'll be there for the timing belt/water pump. Pelican's 800 line sales person tells me it is exactly the same as the flywheel seal on the rear of the block (110mm). However, their parts listings when you look at the site show it is much smaller at 55/52mm. They sent me a diagram showing that front seal and it appears to be an oil seal in the oil pump that I'm not sure I am looking for. I *think* that oil pump seal is in the oil pump. And I *think* the seal I am looking for is directly behind the crank pulley that runs the accessory belts like the water pump, etc.

Stated another way, I'm pulling the pulley for the timing belt. I'm assuming I will then be staring directly at a block seal that will leak oil as soon as I put the car back on the road so I want to change it. What seal is that? P/N or size would be great. Im up against a deadline and will have to pay overnight shipping on these seals so I don't want to have it arrive wrong for the perfect storm of expensive shipping and wrong part.

My 2.5 non turbo 5M engine is the earlier version in 1984 if that matters.

Thanks!

you should replace to oil pump drive sleeve/gear while you're in there.
depending on your car you might have one of two possible sizes of gear/seal combos...

Rocket,

Thanks so much. I got the right seals and also the O ring on the way from Pelican, which I'd have missed without your input. Very much appreciated. Boxes are piling up in the entry rapidly....

Could you please link me to the 52/55 seals you saw previously, so I can clarify what those are?

Im out for dinner but look at 84 944 and engine seals. There are about 5 brands of the rear seal and a few of the front pulley seal. And two sizes for front.

Ahhh **** I got myself mixed up with info...the PNs I had posted earlier were camshaft seals/sleeves...
NOT crankshaft.
If you ordered the PNs I posted before you should cancel!!
Sorry!!!

Rocket,

No worries. I did not notice that either but due to some confusion about the seals on my part (crap service manual), I called and had the Pelican guy whose name is Glen lead me through what I needed using my engine number. So the parts on the way are the correct crankshaft seals at the flywheel end and the oil pump end, plus the O ring at the pump end you alerted me to. So for better or worse, I did not use your P/Ns!

Very kind of you to check in out of concern - a tip of the hat to you.

IdahoDoug,

Just butting in... Closely inspect the oil pump sleeve (metal gear) for any grooves/wear. It may be a good idea to just replace it while you're in there. JMHO...

Pfarah,

Yeah, I noted that. I'd be surprised at 59k and the early oil changes recorded on this girl but I'll take a look. Sometimes I will seat a seal at a slightly deeper or shallower spot. The trick there is to use a caliper or similar to get the distance from the outer edge to the sealing lip on the old seal and then measure the new seal (they vary by brand) and adjust accordingly.
