For Sale:
1987 944S 141K, black on black. Hello All! I am trying to get a few bucks out of my S, and am located in the Denver area. This car has an oil filter full of “bearing salad”, and displays low oil pressure across the board (4-5 bar at cold startup, but reaches 2 bar at highway speeds, and .9 at idle, with a nicely lit dashboard ”!”) That said however, the car could be driven home. The body is very straight (has lacquer check on the hood but it shines like factory paint –ZERO ORANGE-PEEL, but 16yrs of very minor bumps and bruises) , and the interior is fair. The carpet is nice, and the trunk carpet isn’t even all that faded - one small area that looks like something was spilled on it and it ate the carpet, about the size of your fist. The power seats work great, but the drivers side could stand a perforated center section replacement. The dash is cracked (have Coverlay), and sunroof cables / gears need replacement (motor works), all panels in the car look great. A/C is weak, and the dash control only works on the highest position. I have put all of 50 miles on this car, as I acquired the car thru a trade for my 911T. I was under the impression that I receiving a car that was mechanically sound that needed various cosmetics, but this ended up not being the case. So, I would like to give it a new home and start over fresh. According to the p.o, some of these problems surfaced on the way to Denver from NY.....uh.. Four 15X7 phone dials (basically straight need repainting), with decent tires, and a perfect new windshield as well. Car does not smoke, does not display any bottom end knock (even at cold startup, but it's got to be coming soon), and passed CO state emissions about a month ago. Car came from NJ originally, and taken to WNY by the individual I got it from. No rust, all aluminum appears to be salt free, and rubber (seals, spoilers, etc) are soft and black. After carving broken key peices out of locks for all of fifteen minutes, and actually spaying them with grease, they work like new as well. I do not have the alarm key, however, and the wheel locks have been drilled out and not renewed. Driveline feels good and quiet, belts done about 10K ago. New injectors and seals, air flow meter, TPS, and DME relay. "Poor Man's Fix" top tensioner chain rail installed by p.o. Some records. This car would make a great track car for someone, or the ultimate parts car! $2100 obo of ANY reasonable amount Jeff jeff@mesahydrocarbons.com Last edited by JeffSchroeder; 07-11-2003 at 08:58 AM.. |
