Hey,
My son picked up my 1988 952 and wrote it off an hour later. The parts are too good and numerous to part it out so I need a 952 tub (Not 951!) to transfer them into. Anything out there? lcurlett@shaw.ca 403-634-9468 Thanks for your attention Lanny

I have an 1988 Turbo “S” and would be willing to sell as just the bare shell or with the race parts. It has a clean FL. Title and I’m open to trades. I also have stock fenders & nose.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=224926 I also have an 89 944 Turbo body, but it is a salvage Title. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=265517

What is the difference between a 951 and a 952 bare shell? Or are you looking for a right hand drive 951?

The Porsche 944 Turbo S represents what most authorities consider to be the highest performance version of the highly successful 944 product line. The Turbo S was introduced in 1988 as a limited production run, fitted in the same mannter as the "Turbo Cup" race car. In the following year (1989), the 944 Turbo maintained all of the performance characteristics of the 1988 Turbo S, but dropped the "S" designation. 1989 was to be the last year that Porsche imported the 944 Turbo into North America in any significant numbers. My understanding is a 952 is simply a right hand drive 951.

952 is the factory model designation for a RHD 951.
Turbo S has the m44/52 engine designation, while the turbo has the m44/51. This is where the 52 comes from. So, some people call a turbo s a 952, but it is not. So, if he's looking for a RHD turbo shell, good luck. Not too many on this side of the pond. If he's looking for a turbo s shell, a turbo shell would be no different, and far more common.

The 951 has less structure than the 952. I did not know that 952 was a designation for RHD. The literature on the Turbo S indicates structural strengthening that the 951 did not have. It also has harder suspension bushings etc. Because the donor car is an S I would like the continuity and extras that the S had over the 951. At any rate, I'm looking for an S tub, not a RHD.
Thanks, Lanny

Thanks for the offer, Byron, but your fire damaged car is way too expensive for what's there. I can buy a high miler "s" for that kind of money and be all the good parts ahead. Your race tub is a neat starting place for a race car but there is 944 race cars that can be bought and tracked immediately for that kind of money. Your race tub is a great starter for a high end car tho'! Thanks for your replies and attention.
Lanny
