M030 changed from 18mm to 16mm rear sway bars sometime in the '89 model year...
The set I have is 26.8/18mm. Cheers, Keith

Mine was off of an '88 Turbo S car.
I think that you are correct on the S2 at least, regarding the front sway diameter. ![]()

19mm rear sway bar was optional on all Turbos (1986 to 1989) - the optional 19mm sway bar was solid and non adjustable...have one here off of a 1988 Turbo. The optional sways came as 26.8 front, solid non adjustable, and the 19mm rear sway as solid and also non adjustable...

Cocoa, sorry but you are mistaken on this one.
19mm rear sway bar (3 way adjustable) was for the 968 M030 suspension. The images above are from the factory manual. The later M030 944 Turbos used 16mm rear sways, in order to better balance the car as I understand it. I am not sure where you found a 19mm unadjustable sway, but I am pretty sure that it's not OEM. Cheers, Keith

There are more than a few 19mm rear sway bars out there and they are OEM as installed at the Porsche Factory - solid and non adjustable...an option from Porsche.
There was also an option for a 20mm rear stabilazer, but I have never seen or heard any one that has one.

Hmm - never heard of a 19mm non adjustable? Are you sure it isn't an 18? Any pics?

Did you read the post from Cocacolakidd? He states there was a19 mm non-adjustable rear bar. It was part of the M030 option for an 86 951. And I measured it to get the size

Well - at the risk of ticking off Ed I believe he is mistaken as well
There is no factory part number that I know of for a non adjustable 19mm rear sway bar. The 18mm was the largest non adjustable bar that Porsche offered for the 944 series. I've noticed that weather it is just from layers of paint or Porsche being generous that some sways measure larger. If you track down a part number I would gladly retract my assertions and retreat in shame

Look I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you on this and I don't have the time to look up part numbers. I measured the bar and its measures at 19 mm in diameter in several places. It came off a 86 951 with M030 option. End of story. Pls excuse my bluntness

No biggie, there is NO 19mm non adjustable rear sway. Period. End of story. Josh is right, you are wrong. Easy. There is however a 19mm 3 way adjustable from the 968, a 20mm limited production rear sway from the 944 series (according to my WSM although I have never seen one) and a very rare 21mm Turbo Cup rear sway from the 944 series. That's it, that's all...
