928 Cooling Problems
I own a 1985 928S and the coolant light is on...so i flush the system and put the new coolant in...i glance at the undercarriage and coolant is leaking out like a faucet! i believe it is a bad hose or i have heard that the catch tank can actually crack but i am not sure...any advise would be great!
also some of my intake manifold seals are splitting from pressure i am guessing...i have the new seals on order but i was wondering what would this do to my engine if one would split all the way through... thanks for you help... anyone in the phoenix area?!?!

Can you tell exactly where the coolant is leaking from? The catch tank may indeed be the culprit but they tend to crack around the neck with age. You wouldn't need to be underneath the car to see that.
Worse case scenario is your waterpump has let go in which case you're due for t belt/waterpump change and whatever else needs to be done while you're in there. |

thanks for the advise...i havent located or figured out the cooling problem yet...the engine still runs at a normal and safe temp if not cooler so i am not rushing it...i heard the waterpump and belt service to replace is almost $800 so that is not a good sign if that is the case...
got the manifold boots replaced this weekend...ordered them off of *************** and would highly recommend them for parts...there shipping is very fast...i did the replacement myself...i took it to a shop and they said i was going to be 5-6 hours of work and upwards of $500 to do...i did it in 4 hours and it cost me just 70 for the parts!!!!
