You need to spray the calipers, I have never painted car parts with a brush, it not that hard to spray, get an airbrush and a source of air and it will turn out a lot better. Make sure you strain the paint, tack rag the caliper and degrease properly. Have a proper stand to support the calipers. I don't know what S4 calipers sell for un-renovated but I got $1400 for my 4 and positive feedback!

What I have heard is that brand new from Sunset Porsche is a very good price, frequently MUCH less than they sell for used. OTOH used may come with not just calipers, but spindles and rotors.
