Replacing the power steering hose ??

I have noticed that the rubber hose that is joined to a metal hose that goes from the bottom of the reservoir to the front of the car has a leak in it. Is it possible to cut out the rubber hose and replace with a new hose and a good clamp? Like what has been done on the fuel lines. Or, is the pressure too high. What I can tell that part of the system does not have the high pressure on it. Also if you can what size hose. It looks like .50"

Thanks for your help.

I did mine that way. I cut the dimple off the end of the hard line and ran the hose up on the hard line about 6" and used 3 clamps. Its been about 3 years and no leaks. That line from Porsche is $$$$.

Can't remember size. Just cut a piece off and take it in to the parts store.

Thanks. I guess it is not a high pressure hose.

By the way, i read your post on restoring sons car. What a great job!! Your post helped me decide to tackle mine. There is a lot of step by step information I have used. I know it takes time to do the job, take pictures and post them. Believe me we all benefit from it. Thanks.

My pleasure. I am glad someone got something out of it. It is scary but I always thought at worst I would have to pay someone to fix it. I have learned a lot and NEED to finish it this summer!
