Quick question:

If an 82 928 timing belt breaks while running, what are the consequences?

Some of the early 928 were non-interference engines and nothing happened; and also some were interference---minimum valve job. Perform leakdown test, that will tell you for sure.

1) I believe the euro 4.7 engine is interference.
