964 Central Warning Light
Hi all. This topic is probably a regular on these pages and hope I'm not reinventing the wheel. Just got my first 964 and have a challenge with the central warning light in that it will not go out. Tried to cancel etc but it refuses to extinguish. The kicker is that no other warning lights come on and everything seems to be working just fine.
Any advice / guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks team |

IIRC, you need either a Bosch "Hammer" or a laptop with appropriate software to cancel the warning light. I have the Durametric software that I bought many years ago. It will also tell me what the fault is that caused the warning light to illuminate in the first place.

If you do not have a diagnostic device you can try the following.
A. Turn on the ignition, do not start engine. Check that all the warning lights that should be on are on. This includes switching headlights on to if the green light for this works. B. It could be a poor contact to the Central Informer unit, a control box located under the dash by the steering wheel, at least on LHS cars. Just disconnect it, check the contacts and reconnect. This might solve it. |
