Porsche Carrera 911 (993) A/C Problem
Hi,
I have an with the A/C as I have to fill it with freon pretty much every month or so specially when it is not used in two-three weeks. Is this issue common with this model? And if so, is there any way to improve it? I examined the pipes for leakages and it was just fine as well as the compressor. The car is relatively clean as it has around 38,000 km (23,612 miles). Kindly note that I live in an extremely hot country. The temperature in the summer goes up to 45 Celsius (113 Fahrenheit). Thanks |

How did you examine? You need either a leak detector or to purchase a can of Freon with a UV dye. Almost impossible to find otherwise.

Hi Porsche friends
I've owned a 993 and now a 964 Turbo never had a problem, I had my local Porsche dealer changed to r134A and charge my A/C system just over 3 years ago. I still get 36 deg at the vent. I don't take my cars to shops or Porsche dealer for work, I do all my own work, Except for the AC system charging. My advice is to take to the Porsche dealer if you want it to work right. Have them replace all the seals and dryer, Its worth having ice cold for many years, and the dealer will give you a one-year guaranty. Good luck Helio
