Removing CR-1 radio from a 964

Anyone have changed their CR-1 radio/cassete player? I need detail instructions on removal of stock unit without damaging the dash. I don't see any obvious way (no DIN holes for the older tool like u shaped coat hanger wire) except for prying out the front face. However if there are bolts or screws hidden under the dash I'd like to know. Factory manual is useless for this process.

Remove the faceplate (it should be removable for security purposes)

look on the bottom left and right corners - you should see narrow slots. That is where you insert the removal tools.

AF,

My radio doesn't have a removable faceplate for security reason. It is a 1993 RSA model with the then current CR-1 radio/cassete player.

Any other suggestion?

I replaced my cr-1 by removing the trim ring revealing latches on both sides. Use miniature screwdrivers to lift up the latches simultaneously and pull the chassis out. My new alpine slid right into the old housing. This was on a 993.
