Exclamation Heat / Ventilation problem

I have a 1992 964 C2.

Heat continues to come out of the center and passenger side dash vents. Driver side OK. Controls are set at the coldest temp but a heated blend exhausts out of the vents. The controls and mixing valve work as I can see both shift when the heat controls are turned up.

Is there anything else that could be stuck open and causing heat to be sent to the dash from the engines heat exchanger?

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

Tall02

You have two heater valves in the kick panels in either footwell.

If one is stuck open (when they fail, they open) you will get heat.

HI you will require a diagnostic check on the heater and system adaption when /if you repair/fix the problem.

i had a 1990 964 with the same problem. i crawled under the dash on the passenger side to find some intelligant previous owner tried expanding foam as a cure, but you can guess that didn't do anything. i got all of that **** out and found the duct work/tubing was old and brittle, basically had a full time leak. i just cut out a short piece and spliced it back together with a hose clamp. problem solved for me. although the other guy had a pretty good reccomendation too with the two heater valves, im not familar with them but that sound quite possible too.
