Need 964 AC help
I have a 91 C2 with wacky AC. It used to work but now I cannot get the compressor to run. I checked all the relays and fuses and all seem to be fine. I just don't get any voltage at the lead going to the compressor. I had a tech test the coolant and said it was fine. I've checked the servo thingys under the front hood and all 5 move, including the one when you press the AC on button.
I've thought about just wiring a switch up to the compressor to give it current when I want AC but I figured that would be a bad idea in that there probably is suppost to be a pressure cut off switch so it doesn't blow any seals... then I realized thats probably what is broken... There is a device with 4 wires going into in attached in one of the lines but removing it would probably drain my refrigerant, so if anyone has anything to offer... or knows a fix I'd love to hear it. THANKS!

compressor feed wire has interlock switch in refrigerant line, which will cut off voltage if gas is low. the servo thingies under hood regulate hot and cold air mix into cabin and are otherwise seperate system to aircon. suggest a quick test by auto aircon man cheers doug

There is a low pressure switch under the hood. You can jumper the connector like I did to confirm low pressure. Sounds like you have too little refrigerant. Be sure to get it to someone who knows the correct amount and pressure of refrigerant. It is not the same as typical a/c systems.
