964 cab top help?
I PM'd AFJuvat on this, but wanted to post this problem in case it may be of help to other members:
Hello AFJuvat, I have read several posts about 964 top issues and your name rises to the top as a SME. I need some help with a 91 964 that has been giving us fits. Here's the background: Car was driven in parade and several people sat on the top(no boot) and possibly got the top out of whack which resulted in the breakage of the right top bow. Top was operated in this state and both cables eventually stripped and top became inop. Here's what has been done so far to attempt to fix: Bow was replaced. Both motors in header replaced. Every microswitch checked and found to be in spec. Every wire to every component checked OK. TDC switch will not stop top from moving forward when it touches the header. To close top, one must reverse switch at that point to get it to close. Any ideas would be appreciated! __________________
