Question approx C2 $value these days??

Hi there,
visiting from the 911 tech forum..
and am just starting to familiarize myself with 964's.

what are folks expecting to pay these days for a '93-94 C2 coupe
in excellent condition with under 60K miles?

and were the 17" cup wheels a factory option on the C2?

thanks for any feedback,
Maurice

Happy to have a discussion, but let's do it by email rather than this clunky private message mechanism.

Sorry, I thought I received this as a private message. Surprised when I found this posted on the forum.

I just concluded my search. Condition and mileage are big variables. This is the calculus I used in figuring out prices. Take it for what it's worth.

My negotiating strategy was that a nearly flawless 50,000 mile '93 or '94 C2 with nothing whatsoever to repair should sell for $29,000 in this market. Asking price will be 10-15% higher. Then, the rule of thumb I used in comparing cars was to add or subtract $1000 for each 10K miles. Showroom condition would add some to value, as well.

Factory widebody and RS Americas command a premium of 5-10K over standard cars of similar condition and mileage. 17' wheels don't seem to add a lot to the price unless they are something exotic like genuine 8s and 9.5s. Most aftermarket wheels hurt value some.

I am not sure what the benchmark price for an older 964 should be, but a similar calculus should work once you arrive at a benchmark.

There are a LOT of 60,000 mile cars out there. However, if you find the exact car of your dreams (every option, color, etc.), don't diddle around over $1-2K. I lost out on a couple of nice ones, snatched up by lucky buyers. Over your 7-10 year ownership period, will you notice the difference if you overpay a little?

In the end, I did find my dream car. And, when I found it, I moved very quickly (bought it the day after I found it, contingent on adequate inspections) to make sure that no one else got it.

Good luck!

What ever someone is willing to pay.... ; )
Check out http://www.kbb.com/
Looks like 94 with 60K is worth 32K private party.

Or not.

Here is a good reference at $27K. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=84941

I think this car was sold below value because Brian Buxton really wanted to liquidate the inventory -- just my theory.

This is an example that I would say was worth the $29K benchmark.
