What's the difference between these body styles? (966)

What is the difference between these two cars, as far as the body?

I'm working on an art type project, and from what I understand, they are both 911 966's, and I realize the one is a Turbo model, but the actual differences, what are they?

Is it just the bumpers, widened fenders in the back and the tail? I've compared so many photos, but comparing movie photos to 3D shapes and so many, they all become confusing. I figured this was the best place on the planet to ask about the body and shell differences, what was the same and what wasn't. Thanks for your patience, and what must seem like a silly question to people who are super familiar with this model.

and this one, from the Bad Boys movie.

Is it a completely different body, or just the more extreme shapes towards the lower half around the wheels?

Like a MK2 VW Jetta VS Golf, it's just the trunk area, the rest is the same... are the top halves of these two Porsches the same?

As far as I know, there were no 966 models. There was a 964 series from 1989 to 1993 and a 964 Turbo series from 1990 to 1994. The next series of air-cooled 911s was the 993 series, from '94 to '98.

I did a web search for 911 966 models and came across a video of a '99 Carrera that the poster mislabeled as a 966 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr7rpjBnZwA

OH MY GOSH! I meant 996

I'm so sorry, not even sure what I was thinking.

So these I believe to be 911 996 models, but the one is a Turbo with deeper wheel wells, the fin, and the bumpers.... but is the metal shell mostly the same?

the graphic looks like a 993 and the pic is a 964!neither are 996s
there's a whole internet out there..get out into it.
You're probably a young guy, and haven't honed your searching skills much yet, so here's the short answer.. 996 C2 and C4 are "narrow" body cars, the 996 turbo is a "wide" body.
body shell differences are mainly the pumped out rear fenders, The bolt on panel differences are - wider front guards, different bumpers, decklid and spoiler. There were Aero 996s too which had optional lower lip front bumper, side skirts and decklid spoiler, and rear bumper addendums behind the rear wheels.
So in terms of just the body shell, apart from some unseen internal differences, a Turbo has wider rear flares, from ten feet if you had a C2 shell and a Turbo shell, the rear fender width is the only difference you would spot

Exactly what I was looking for. And I realize there's a whole internet out there, that's how I got here. My search was about these two models, so being stuck with this detail, I came to the most Porsche-focused forum I know and got exactly what I was looking for. And thank you for typing that all out, now I know 400% for sure what I'm looking at, and the differences and can google those details for further research.

Seriously, thanks again. Some things people just know by eye because of a lifetime of experience, and that's what I was hoping for here... I appreciate it.
