Low Idle Oil Pressure

Just checking to see if any of you guys experience 1 Bar oil pressure when warm 1999 911 Carrera 3.4L Cabriolet?? Is that normal for our cars?? Car oil pressure runs very similar to the RPM's as it should when warm but in traffic/sitting in traffic not moving it gets to 1 bar or just a little lower(no oil pressure light/only if RPM's dip to 500 but not common) and FYI Air Temp was 87 Degrees and fresh oil change with Mobile 1 0W40 that day. Should I go heavier oil??

Norm: Not sure about your car but for my 2005 996 that would be too high of water temp and too low of oil pressure! I can tell you this year I switched from Mobil 1 0-40 to Joe Gibbs DT40 which is a 5-40 weight oil. Quieted engine and gained about 1/2 bar(just under 2 bar) at idle after warmed up in 90+ temperature. I have read that 1.5 bar warmed up is acceptable to many on these forums.

It will run a little over 180 when moving which is very good I think but sitting in traffic it is/hasn't been higher than my picture shows. I am planning on taking the front bumper cover off and clean out the radiator and condenser because I can see some debris in there so there probably is more in between them as well. Next oil change I might go 10W40 but stick with Mobile 1 one more time.

Mine's a '99 3.4 with a little over 143,000 mi. The oil pressure gauge shows 1.2 bar at warm idle and 3-3.2 bar @ 2600 RPM - it should be noted that these stock gauges are notoriously inaccurate. The markings on the temp gauge are somewhat misleading as the 180 mark is way to the left of the actual number. My needle sits just on the left edge of the "0" in 180 - I believe this equates to approximately 210 degrees Fahrenheit - which I believe is "normal"...

Mine also sits on the left edge of the "0." It's never been higher than that in any traffic situation. The only time it started creeping past the "0" was the day before my water pump and expansion tank let lose.
