Door glass auto drop down

My 2003 996 drivers side window auto drops correctly upon pulling the inside or outside door handle then it instantly pops back up while door is open upon release of door handle. Drivers side only, no battery issues. I'm thinking micro switch. Any suggestions for further diagnosis?

Your problem is in the door open closed switch in the latch, It thinks the door is still closed. Your dome lights are probably immediately going off when the latch is released also. You have to replace the latch assembly as I do not think the switch is supplied separately.

dgmark, I think you are correct and yes, the dome lights go out when latch is released and the door is still open.

Well, needless to say I haven't fixed this issue yet. Is this 8N1-837-015-C-OEM
door lock mechanism the part you are referring too?

That is where the switch is located. 8N1837015C
