Help: What is the method mentioned to mount 6pt referenced in the following thread.
This was mentioned back in 2002 in a thread called seats and was posted by avi8torny..
What method is there to mount a 6 point harness w/o drilling holes? I recieved 2x 6 pt Sabelt instead of 4pt due to a misunderstanding on bar type after I placed my order for 4pt (I have a bk bar and didn't want to bar mount). Since I have to mount this 6 point belt in very short order, I'm hoping somebody would know what method is referenced below... If hardware is involved, please point me the right way. Naturally I will give OG Racing a call tomorrow and avi8torny has been pm'd already, just doesn't seem to hit up Pelican too frequently. --begin quote-- Topic: seats Food for thought......I went with a six point setup that OG Racing recommended which keeps you from drilling holes for the subbelt. The Brey-Krause harness bar is the ticket...great quality. __________________ tdowling 87 Targa --end-- Thank you everyone, -Ivan Last edited by 930yyc; 04-23-2006 at 03:17 PM.. |

The application is a 1986 Porsche 911 ROW Carrera, with stock seats (if I keep the belts, I'll figure out how to afford a pair of proper seats sooner than expected)
I was hoping to modify the car as little as possible, it's a great example. This is my first year trying my hand at Solo I, if it all tasted as good as expected I'd build up another car while my skills grow

Go to WWW.SCCA.ORG and download the GCR. (Do a search on 'GCR' at the SCCA site.)
The method specified in the GCR is to attach the sub belts to the same anchor points as the lap belts. run the subs u p each side of the seat just like the lap belts. The difference is you sit on the subs, and bring it up between your legs. (It's much more comfortable than it sound.) Not only is this an easy way to install a six-point setup, it’s also much safer than running dual subs through a single hole in the seat bottom.
