This car may have scared him off from this years event. So far this year score is Pretty Black Boxster 1 Ugly Yellow VW Poop Bucket 0. No fun to travel long way to lose to an under powered Barbie mobile.

oh-oh.....I'm telling Britain.
Them's fightin' words Grant!

Great looking car you have there.
How much does it weigh?
Doesn't look like there's much left to your Boxter?
I know Britain has his 914 down to 1700 something.

I'll be watching the results.

Boxster is down to 2135 lbs now. When I go with fiberglass body panels should go below 2000 lbs.

My co-driver did beat Brit at SCCA National Tour in the chop top boxster so I think we may have scared him away from California for the rest of the year. But of course he was weighted up to 2050 lbs for FP class. He might have a chance at 1700 lbs but the Boxster is better handling car. To beat this car he will need a power course as the wimpy 2.5 in the boxster is no match for his 2,7 liter motor in a car 400 lbs lifgter.

We finally got the 914 running decent (not 100%) on day 2 of the Wendover NT.
The cylinder would not fire at low rpms but did above around 3K. When we got home, one semi working plug wire turned out to be the problem.

On day 2 Brit beat all the CSP & DP Miatas. Doug knows just how tough that is..Grant hasn't figured that out yet...Afraid of a Boxster?
We won't be there because of the long drives.....the same excuse all the Ca. guys made last year for not coming to the 914 Shoot Out in Packwood last year.
The event name was changed to include those fat cars.

Here's acouple of vids.

Day one, running on 5....plug wire fell off.

YouTube - 2010-05-15 Wendover NT AX - Sat Run - 50.230secs

Day 2 running on 6 ...mostly.

YouTube - 2010-05-16 Wendover NT - Sun Run - 46.015secs

JP Think I will add these to the infamous Autocross Excuses T shirt! Its a mystery how Brit got beat by a big fat Barbie mobile so excuse list has come out. Fouled carbs, slipping clutch, plug wire is off. Whats next? Clogged fuel filter, bad coil, malfunctioning fuel pump, vapor lock or bad gear box? That is nice thing about a 914 it will always provide you with an excuse if youre driving isnt up to par. However I never thought of disconnecting my own plug wire when I wasnt cutting the mustard! Thats a slick move!

Guess somone has forgotten that part of being successful at AX is making sure the car is ready to go at the important competitions like the two biggest National Tour events in the West rather than always seemingly running strong at minor local events where competion is thin at best. Sort of like showing up to a gun fight with a rusty gun and not only do the guys with guns riddle you with bullets but the guy with the butter knife sticks you just to add insult to injury.

You both know where the gurly car plays JP. Youre not going to get us lazy Boxster guys to drive 36 hours round trip to poorly attended minor events in Northwest even if you do have some good wine and cheese venues for us Porsche Posuers. Unfortunately we are busy with big presitious events here in Kalifornia and National Championships in Lincoln for the rest of the year so your going to need to play in your puddle with the minnows while we swim the ocean with the sharks.

Brit going to Nationals? If he wants another whirl at the wheel against the "Porsche in Panties" he should suit up in his big boy pants and show up to Nationals in F Prepared trim rather than hiding in XP where he knows the Boxster wont be able to come close to weight minimum.

Lessee if I have this right. You want Brit to add 300lbs of ballast so he equal weight/class to that fat assed Boxster.....that would be fair, eh? You don't want to run XP where he only has to ballast up 80 lbs....not fair,eh? You been blowing your horn all over Porsche internet sites how wonderful your Boxturd is and how it has replaced the 914 in competition but don't mention anything about handicapping the 914.

Whall sure, a man would be a fool not to accept your requirements.

The fact is, Brit has run 3 different classes at National Tour events. One would think that a hero Boxster could do the same. You should be able to handle bout anything at our low rent Packwood NT event.

An EP car ran XP at Wendover and gave a good account of themselves.....but then, they were competitors and not afraid to run out of class.....that's where the competition was. 12 of the 13 guys in the class knew we were running for 2nd place.....but that's where the competition was.

"Hiding out it XP".....what a chump.

LOL! JP your fantasy world is truly enjoyable! Good for you!

AS indicated Team Pirate Racing (TPR) is headed to Nationals in FP this year with no intent to build an XP car. As far as Brits ability to drive his XP 914 faster than the TPR Boxster its yet to be seen. To be frank our team doesnt look at Brit's 914 as national level competition in FP. TPR is focused on class we have chosen to compete at Nationals and we will remain focused on that class this season. Thats how successful teams improve. We also recruit co-drivers as opposed to tire warmers. We dont put emphasis on single driver we are all about putting our team as high in standings as possible. You have to check your ego at the door when you drive with TPR You will find in many local events TPR car driven by a few drivers not just one who thinks he is fast.

The car that whipped Brit's 914 along with TPR Boxster in FP are here in California. Sorry but we are going to run against known winner not somone who jumps around to classes he thinks he can win based on who is showing up. TPR has no interest in Trophy hounding or bragging rights. One has to wonder why Brit wieghted up his 914 when he knew National XP car was showing up to San Diego NT and chose to run with the "slower guys in FP ...and we still whupped him by seconds which as you know is ions in the world of AX. You told us so remember? If you think shedding 300 lbs will make him 2 seconds faster send him to El Toro next Month so he can prove youre right!

Hows your Japanese import tuner coming "Papa Rice"?

Mr.2 is SCCA C stock.....not much tuning involved. It has some kinda clunk in the rear suspension.....165K miles will do that. It's laid up till I finger that out.

How is your hopped up Mazda6 ....is it still the second coming of Christ from a year or 2 back?

I would have liked to enter this event but my shop is sponsoring the PCA event at el toro the same weekend. The new boxster will be making it's first rounds in new lightweight trim. Would be great if you could make an event down there this year.
