Rothman 911 Race Car
I have owned this 1984 Porsche 911 Factory M491 Carrera for approximately 12 years. It was a street car for the first 9 years of ownership. I was bitten by the racing bug, and had it professionally converted to a Rothman's tribute race car three years ago. The car has since competed in Historic Sportscar Racing events including the 2016 12 Hours at Sebring, the 2017 Fall Historics, and the 2017 and 2018 running of The Mitty at Road Atlanta. I raced it in Group 5 with HSR.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat six with GE100 camshafts, Aluminum Racing cylinder heads, Slide Valve induction, mechanical fuel injection (pump built to RSR spec), and twin plug ignition. The 915 trans was completely rebuilt with a short gear ratio, JB racing Ultra-light competition flywheel and racing clutch and 7:31 pinion. The car wears a Rothmans vinyl wrap and features 9x16 and 11x16 BBS wheels, Elephant Racing coilovers, a roll cage, and a full fire suppression system.
