Can you guys with these narrow body high HP cars comment on power hook up. Can you hook these car up at low speed OK. I would assume the handling at the track is somewhat limited by the size tire you can stuff underneath it. I have 2 wide body cars with scads of HP and I run a ton of tire, just curious.

Hey pu911, buy it and find out first hand how well it hooks up.
rdane is probably then best person to comment on handling and performance, since he has worked closely with RussianBlue on dialing the car in recently.

The car hooks up waaaay better after the recent suspension mods - it was verrry obvious my first test drive post susp work.
I have a feeling that I NEED to post that these two cars ARE NOT perfect. The 73.5 is really not far from being a very very nice car.... it needs little things.... JUST LIKE MOST ANY CAR. The 3.6 is SET UP and has been a daily driver before - it needs little things as well - JUST LIKE MOST CARS.... I prefer to show the cars in person wherein I will bend over backwards describing what is wrong with them! I refuse to post a flipper ad glorifying my car - but just the same I am no longer posting ads degrading my cars. FWIW Last edited by RussianBlue; 03-18-2005 at 08:20 PM.. |

At some point selling a car is really simple. You name a price, call it "firm", and it eliminates most all of the tire kickers, flippers, bottom feeders, etc. No offense intended, but when you leave things open ended (I still have no idea how much you want for either car) it is an open invitation for every dreamer or person that thinks they might make a few bucks off a seller that might let it go too cheaply.
Again, no offense intended. I have been drooling over that '72 for days now. It's one of the most tasteful and functional modified early cars I have seen. There is a fine line where they lose their charm and become a bit overdone. |

Alex, I sent you a personal IM this a.m. I think you are selling too low. Look at crappy RS'S they start well over 100k close to 200k finished. So whats the next best thing? Real good 72's and 73's! I have a 35 bentley one off body. Vintage Bentleys, thats pre 32 go for a ton of money some way over $1mil. so what the next best thing good 3.5 litre 's. the value of my car has more than doubled in the past 2 years. Same thing for corvetts, camero's and so on. These orig Porsches are some of the best sports cars ever made. light , fast, dependable. So why under sell good cars. Hey look at the market. Why someone would ever pay 100k for a camero is just nuts. They made 100's of thousands of them. Yet no no has ever figurer out there are more 67 corvette big blocks now then were ever made is way beyond me. Now again I am not talking about some rusted out fixed up crap. I mean good west coast cars. Hey this is just my opinion. Jim Facinelli (RUF BTR C4)

Jim, there are a few people that have "figured" it out - and you are one of them.
Flippers have a good idea of what the market is doing - and why I am still being contacted by them - however, the typical flipper uses someone elses money or monies from previous flips. I am CERTAIN early orignial (non-moded) cars are going to go through the roof - AND it's coming very soon. I have no doubt. This why I refuse to sell my "E" targa - which are rarer than "S's" HELLO people! I am very torn about selling at all - it's ONLY because I could use the money right now. I secretly wish that they will not sell ![]() Again, thanks Jim for having the guts to post that - you are 100% correct. Ugh showing the 3.6 today - I will do my best to have the prospective buyer write up his opinion (un-bias) 4|3X |

![]() And you know, if indeed you do mean the 73 I would have to agree and deep inside I think it is absolutely worth $25k I have discounted for door panels, new carpet (doesn't absolutely need one) and proper refinishing of the fuchs, plus misc. like installing the original radio I have and antenna paint touch up (chips/dings/holes - if any) It could use orig seats - but those are relatively cheap (NON-recaro) Thanks for your comment - I don't think I will sell the car here on Pelican NO OFFENSE to anyone But it's just a lot of money for anyone - and a lot of money for a "T" . . . Have a feeling there will be many regrets on a lot of these so called "over-priced" cars not five years from now..... Just MHO . . . PS FYI I bought this 73 for a so called high price not 5 years ago - and I bought it sight unseen after talking to the PO - a very meticulous porsche owner. Finished a 15 min conversation with him and bought it on the phone - flew up the following weekend and have ZERO regrets. PPS Bought the targa the exact same way

Jim, good comments.
Nice 73 you just picked up. Funny how some get it and others don't. |

Ooooh. So Close! ...but I'm allergic to cats.
I've ridden in Blue's '72 3.6 Very well sorted car. Scared the crap outa me for a few moments...might have had something to do with the throttle sticking open while RDane had his right foot planted to the floor. 'Twas quite a ride. BTW, the throttle problem was quickly rectified and has not recurred since. If I had the cash I'd be your buyer for the 3.6. Silly cash and my lack of it.

No.
The car this buyer was looking for does not exist... Nice gentleman indeed, so I do not want to go into the details. I will say this though: If you are the type that toothbrushes the underside of a car after a short drive...... THIS CAR IS NOT FOR YOU ! |

The Russian Blue is a great companion. Affectionate & SMART little guys
Beautiful cars Alex. I'm new to this board, a longtime 911 wannabe & recent lurker looking ot whats avaulablr. I'd gladly drop 20k on your 73.5 if it wasn't on the opposite side of the continent. I have a copule of questions about the 72. Hoe do these early inibodies handle that much power? Do they have to be reinforced or anything ? Also, you have the 915 tranmsiion in this car- right? I thought they were already streesed out w/ the 3.2, how well do they deal with the3.6? Brian 02 M Coupe (for sale) |
