1971 T complete project

Well, The car is complete.....seems to be some mud in the front left fender, the hood has a place where something dropped on it and left a dent that is repairable, it must have rolled into something and punched a dent at the left front corner which cracked and ruined the left front turn lens, just underneath the left rear side glass there is the only rust that that is totally accessible thru the wheel well......an easy fix for the body person. Passenger door is a bit sprung and has surface rust....an easy fix. Body will have to obviously be painted but there isn't anything that cannot be fixed easily. Good news is that it is complete, the chrome is excellent, the 2.2 in it has developed a rod knock and it comes with a complete but partially disassembled 2.4 with mech. injection. The 2.2 has twin Zenith's and you may know just how rare and sought after those things are. It's a non-sunroof coupe, btw. Interior will need carpet, front seat covering, maybe a headliner and there is a crack in the dash, of course, my research told me $750-1200 would make it brand new. It is a Sportamatic which works like a charm if that's what you want, I was going to convert it to manual which is bolt on and cost varies as to whether you want to put in a 901, 915 or even a G-50 as you may well know. Black interior, sky blue....(not he correct name for this color but it is original and I just didn't want to look it up....heheheh, sorry) All gauges seem to work.......5 16 inch Fuchs that I would either polish or have a couple of them re=touched with 5 brand new with stickers still in place, Goodyear g-800's? (oem issue) tires...........hmmmmm.......................I really looked hard for a solid complete early 911 to restore, this was the best I could find and here in Colorado, rust , with the dry air, just isn't a problem ........... $4500 obo

I'm going to stick my neck out and venture a guess that your car is Pastel Blue, a 1971 color.

I wish the timing was better; I hope to have an early Sporto coupe one of these days and this would've been a good project.

Hope this helps. (It's my first post on Pelican BTW!)

That is the perfect car to just get going and keep going (possibly just replace engine bearings and a few soft parts). If it was manual transmissioned I would pay the $4500 plus shipping to the east coast in a heartbeat. Good luck to you and you should have no problem selling it at that low price.

Personally I think if you threw that on ebay you would fetch 8000 plus. Have you considered it?

Was considering it, actually.......What would you think this would be worth minus the engines?.....I've had a few inquiries regarding that? Also have been advised to part it out for more money but that seems like such a shame, plus I have a life and a job and don't need another one as a car dismantler, lol.

I would watch a few ebay auctions before I had my heart set on 8K.
I think your price is fair but add up what it will cost to get car back on the street.

Is this car still available?
Are you flexible on the price? Looks like a good car but needs some solid investment to make it nice.

Thanks, luis

This car is gone. Speedo bought it. I helped him remove the engine today. Boy that early sporto stuff sure is unique/weird.

If it was working properly I hope he's saved it. Stuff like that is getting harder to come by and you never know when someone may need it. At the very least he can recoup some of the purchase price of the car.

Speedo will easily recoup his "investment," and that was nowhere near the seller's asking price. The car will live on as a vintage racecar., sans the sporto...
