High Mileage Cayene ?

I've come across a well priced 2009 cayenne S. It has 175k miles. I'll be talking about maintance history with the seller.
If well maintained should it have more reasonable life left in it.
Or will it be a constant project to keep going?

What are the important areas to check out.

Cheers Richard

I've got an 06 Cayenne S that I've done all the work myself and it's running strong. All the expected issues addressed, next I'll replace the lower and upper A-arms. Car has 150K and runs very strong.

Agree on 0w40 mobile 1, I also always use engine flush and use restore as well plus always to use a K&N oil and air filters. Also add sea foam every 5th fill up. I just replaced upper/lower arms on the front two weeks ago. Also changed the swaybar drop links since it was apart. My engine runs strong and cool, even when towing. Next I’ll change out the tranny fluid. I also need to look at my rear defroster which stopped working, maybe a fuse. I love the car.

I also agree on using Mobil 1, however, not comfortable with factory recommendations for oil change intervals. I have it changed at shorter intervals. It is a 2008 Cayenne S and after 9 years of ownership I still get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I had a problem with air bag warning lights for three years. The dealership replaced the passenger seat base and wanted to install a new air bag. I took it to an independent garage and they confirmed I needed to replace the air bag. I did and nothing changed. After over three years of code chasing and clearing the dealer re-calibrated the passenger seat weight sensor and that fixed one problem. The dealer eventually replaced the dash wiring harness about a year ago and that took care of the other light. They are complicated cars and should not be serviced by any technician who is not supervised by an experienced highly trained adept problem solver. The only chronic issue that hasn't been fixed yet is the loss of the date display. It is a common issue and the cause is known, however, after a couple of years, Porsche has yet to come up with a fix. I feel that the Cayenne has the potential to be very reliable and accumulate a lot of miles, however, it also, at some premature point, has the potential of being unfixable due to the complexity and cost. The fun factor is the tipping point for me.

I own a 2006 Cayenbe S with 165,000 on it and it runs strong. Just this past weekend did some offroading in the north Georgia mountains. Did 4 creek crossings average dept around two feet. Performed really well. I have air suspension so that helped along with the 20" wheels and A/T tires.
