Damn, cegerer. You are scarring me. The uni-pyro.

I agree with Nostatis about the V-6 making little sense. That would definitelly seem a purchase based only on the badge.
|
Brian...that's funny! Glad you caught it, because I sure didn't. Hmmm, do you think the slantnose driving chicks would all have freeze-dried hair, like the styles of old?
|
:D :D :D :D :D

and how many times have we been behind one of our beloved 911s driving 50 in the fast land while talking on the phone....haha....bad comparsion.

Dammit, DAMMIT!
Note to self: Adhere more closely to the rules of basic sentence construction when trying to be a smart arse. I sincerely apologise to any bald fat middle aged pony tailed 911 drivers for any offence/emotional scarring this ill considered post may have caused. |
Self flagellation accepted as suitable punishment. But only if you post a pic of same. :D Besides, I may be fat...but no pony tail. And at 60, I'm past middle aged....I'm old! Unless, of course, I live to become 120 years old. Middle aged is, what? 37 or so? Respect your elders, sonny, respect your elders...with luck, you may live long enough to become one.

Gawds Balls! THis hasn't been moved to off topic yet? Better yet, to the Cayenne board? Maybe this pic will do it....under "what paint theme do you think I should...."http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077856491.jpg

Why buy a V6 Cayanne? You lose all the benefits of the S/ Turbo (fast, handles well), but still have the low points (questionable styling, price). I can't talk $hit on SUVs, my wife drives an '03 4Runner V6 Sport, but for $33,000 I can blow your doors off. It has a neato cross linked hydraulic shock system, kind of like the Audi RS6, though in a overweight and top heavy SUV. If it had decent tires it might actually handle ok. I can't lie, if I was wealthy, she'd be driving a Cayanne Turbo, but that's a big if. Anyway, is it really the Porsche of SUVs if it's slower than hell? Sorry, the V6 is just the poser model, or maybe the "most" poser model by some of these guys.:p

Interesting to note that Car and Driver picked the Cadillac SRX V-8 ahead of the Porsche Cayenne S. The Infiniti FX45 came third and the Volkswagen Touareg V8 came last. I'd rather buy a Honda Pilot and put the money saved towards a used 911. Then you'd have a great SUV and a REAL Porsche.

Rated R
The following post contains strong adult language, nudity, violence, and graphic depictions of a vehicle capable of driving over a 914, or 356 at 135 MPH and not even notice. "Since when did they put speed bumps on the interstate?"

You might as well have asked, "I'm from Kentucky and I want to go to San Francisco and marry my cousin. We're both guys but he's only 16. Anyone BTDT and have some helpful advice?" :D

Maserati is coming out with the "Kubang" SUV it will use the Cayenne/Tourareg chassis.
Ferry has to be rolling in his grave. Whats next from the pathetic executives at Porsche a behemoth version SUV "the Jalapeno"? Or yet a Mini Van? If you want a decent SUV get a Hummer, a real one not the Tahoe chassis fake wannabe H2. |
Could we please see some pictures of the girls that the middle aged guy in the red flatnose is trying to pick up? :D :D :D
Rboylan You sure asked in the wrong forum ;) Let's put fun aside and try to be serious for a moment. Why a VW engined Cayenne if the same car in VW look is much cheaper? Why a SUV after all? Why not a Volvo St. car? Or something else? It's my impression that 9 out of 10 SUV buyers don't really need one. They just buy a SUV because everybody else does. |
TOUAREG DEFINITELY!!
It's a great SUV and it looks so much better than that the Hyundai Santa Fe..I mean that Cayenne turd. My $0.02 |
Here's some honest advice from a Porsche heretic:
If you like the base Cayenne, buy the Toureg and probably get a better package and save some dollars. If you want an SUV that can mop up a large number of 911s on this board, get a Cayenne TT and never look back. The lack of historical Porsche knowledge, ignorance of Porsche "tradition", pseudo nostalgic talk and general SUV hating mentality means very little where the rubber meets the road. The venerable off-road knowledge of Porsche AG, rally experience and ability to capture all of that in one vehicle is amplified in the TT Cayenne. At best, the criticism of the Cayenne here is distilled as diatribes against stereotypical SUV "drivers". calling the Cayenne a "truck" or some dillusional feeling that Porsche should still be making 1972 911 coupes without sunroofs. This continues to be a remarkable aspect of Cayenne criticism on this board; a board that is so willing to delve into the minutia of every aspect of what "they" consider a real 911 to be while summarily dismissing the performance and handling aspects of an extraordinary vehicle. It's at least conforting to know that there is a group of Porsche enthusiasts that love early 911s and are also able to appreciate what an amazing engineering achievement the Cayenne truly is . . . but it ain't here. Let the flames begin! BR, Kurt |
Do I have a cayenne? Nope? Do I get to drive one? yep. It's the s model. Would I buy one if I had the money-No. But that's because I despise suv's. Is it a good car? yep. Is it fast? Faster then most old 911's (faster then a lot of cars-period). Does it handle well. For a 5000 lb car, I don't think anything would come close. Heck this car will out handle a lot of smaller cars. Is it comfy? front seats are, rear's suck? Does it come w\a fridge? Yep. If I needed to buy a suv-infinity it is.
Will I get to drive a cayenne TT? Yep. S is being traded in. Will report later. Did i say I don't like suv's??? ;) |
Hmmmm .... 510 views and climbing rapidly on a 'Cayenne Thread' on the "911 Technical Forum" .......
Might as well throw in a few photos, so they can all see what they secretly lust after ...... :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077886176.jpg |
