Red face Chopped Cayenne?!?

Just got this message, I don't know if it's posted before but I thought it's worth it (positive or negative )

For the people who don't read Dutch:
This story is about a chopped Cayenne by Rinspeed
The roof is chopped 15 cm. (6 inch), and the rear doors are deleted for extra body strength.
The fenders and air intakes are bigger and the car has 23" wheels.
The engine in tuned to 600Hp with 800Nm of torque.
The topspeed is 290 Km/h (181 Mph)
The price is about 325 - 375.000 Euro without taxes. (Yikes!)

Chopped Cayenne?!?

Wow... Rinspeed really has a problem making UGLY cars! I still think it's better then that greenish pick-up 996 a few years back.

here is a very rough translation off of a web-translator:

The Swiss Rinspeed stand already many years' guarantor for
talked-about verbouwingen of cars. On the car fair of Paris it is this way far: there the company presents the Rinspeed Chopster.

The most striking characteristic Porsche cayenne cultivated of these
Rinspeed are the shortened roof line. A, B, C and d style became 15 cm ' gechopt '. Afterwards also the windows had be adapted, and to guarantee the stijfheid of coachwork, the achterportieren disappeared.
The luchtinlaten to the front a maatje has become larger and also the
mudguards are considerable what fuller and larger. The creation of Rinspeed became also still provides with 23 inch rims.
The engine was opgepept up to 600 pk and now provides a maximum
appetite strength of 800 Nm. With that the car 290 obtains km/u. Rinspeed claimt acceleratie of 0 to 100 in less than 5 seconden.
Binnenin are there for 4 passengers a tank chair and a hidden role
cage protects the inzittenden. Of course there are lederen interieur and the customer can choose
there to wish for aluminium or carbon fibre priorities. The price of the Rinspeed Chopster lies between 325,000 and the
375,000 euro, zónder Dutch taxes.

It has the cartoonish proportions of a Viper or FX45. More importantly, they've removed the Cayenne's ability to tow, go off-road, or handle snow-covered roads ..... the "utility" is gone, so what's the point? Buy a 997 if ya just want to go fast.

And the German article, for what it is worth:

http://www.spiegel.de/auto/aktuell/0,1518,310845,00.html

I can translate it for you, if you are really hot to know. It's over 300k Euro, 600 horse, 2 doors, 4 bucket (race) seats.

I think it is great. Take this to the track and the lower folks will quit whining that they can't see anything ...

George
