Tell me about the Cayenne

What can you tell me about your Cayenne?

I heard the engine is the same as an audi A8 engine. Is that so?

Anyone have pics of the engine with the cover off?

Any link to engine photos?

What type of transmission do they have?

Tiptronic style? any manual trans ones out there?

I've been thinking about how cool these Cayenne's are. They intrigue me..

I thought I was on a technical forum. Glad you like your cup holder. I'll check for real info elsewhere. You guy go back to your coffee and bling meeting.

This place is a boob forum. Wayne should add a sub heading for you special people. Something like: "Suit wearing pinky lifting boars with no spell check forum."

Most forums welcome in new people not show them how ignorant they are. I have come to the conclusion you know less about your Cayenne than I do. Good luck with that.

Serious questions and no response. hmmm

I have been thinking of harvesting one of these motors for a project I am doing.
I would really like to see some technical data.

What are the sites that have this type of information?

Are there Cayenne hot rod sites? People must have chipped these things and changed the motors by now...hell this is what we do, isnt it...we cant leave things alone, that is to boring.

At least point to some of the sites that might help out.....please

Rich

Thank you, but carbon fiber mirrors, a shiny muffler and wheels are not what I was talking about...

Does anyone really build these cars up, or are they to new at this point?

Rich,
Not trying to be rude but your questions were very vague. We need to know what you are exactly looking for since there are now 9(gen1 v6, s, t, ts and gen2 v6, s, gts, t, ts) different cayenne variants. Most answers could be found with a simple google search.

To answer your questions:
Engine is not the same as the A8. The V8 in the cayenne is only in the cayenne. In the q7 the 4.2 is shared with the a8. The V(r)6 cayenne from what i understand is very close to the t-red v6.

The cayenne can be had with both tip and manual trans. They are both 6 speed.

Without the covers on the engine it looks pretty much the same. Most of what you see are part of the engine.

Thanks for sharing. That wasn't so hard was it? A real exchange of questions and answers just like the big forums do.

I don't mean to be rude but you people have my hair standing up on the back of my neck. If you don't have anything nice to say like maybe... welcome Glad you found us! Let me show you my mods! Don't say anything at all.

I don't understand why my post was so confusing.

heard the engine is the same as an audi A8 engine. Is that so?

Answered, Thank you.

Anyone have pics of the engine with the cover off?

Well? Do ya or don't ya?

Any link to engine photos?

Well.....?

What type of transmission do they have?

Tiptronic style? any manual trans ones out there?

Answered both of the above, thank you.

Most other boards and members I frequent try to give a few more details and attempt to be more helpful, but I think I made progress here.

So, Does anyone have a photo of their engine with the decorative cover off?

I see lots shiny body shots and bling but no pictures of what makes your pig tick.

No one has pictures with the engine covers off or a link to pictures of the engine, sorry. I am willing to say, if you go to a dealership and are really looking for a cayenne and not just there to waste the client adviser's time they will be more than willing to remove the covers and let you take pictures. Maybe you can share them with us once you upload them

Guy,

You need to lighten up; my comments were tongue and cheek due to the nature of your questions.

Search is a really useful tool, and most of you questions could have been answered this way.

I do work on my truck, but right now I am working on my 30 year old 911 (sans cup holders).

I found the engine pics (I commented were on another "Renn" site) and I posted them as well as my diagram when I changed the plenum.

We try to keep this forum going but there's not too many posters here there are two other forums that have a lot of good Cayenne info on them but in respect for Wayne I won't post the links as we are trying to make this forum better.
