Bad luck with cayenne door lock!! Read !
Last week I was unable to open the door of my pepper with the remote. Tryed everything : change batteries, the back window lock and so I went to open the door manually . Key went in but did not even move even with a can of wd40. So I called the dealer who said this happens , a lock out, thus essential to have the manual door lock work. I had the door opened with a break in kit ( scary but no damage). I guess I will have to have the lock rebuilt by the Porsche dealer. Again remember to check once every few weeks the actual door locks! My guess in my case that the door was never opened since 2004!!!

My mechanic wants to just replace the entire lock system that needs to be ordered in from porsche for 250 for the part and 300 for labor.... So I decided to talk to the actual Porsche dealer who might have another solution .... I hope....

Finally I took it to the Porsche dealer. The mechanic popped out the lock in 5 min. He tried to grease it and heat it but it did not even move. So he ordered a new barrel for 300 bucks. Should be fixed next week . No need to take apart the entire door !
