Question on eBay listing

This car came up, and has a reserve of $15000. In addition, it's being offered for $15k on Facebook.

It seems to me that the motor itself is worth nearly that.

What am I missing here?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Porsche-911-2-door/173435032139?hash=item286188924b:g:hmwAAOSwF7lbOue 6&vxp=mtr

Yes, the title is listed as rebuilt, but surely that isn't a $5k hit, is it?

What you may be missing is that the other (or this one) is a mirrored scam ad.

A first year cab is desirable - to me anyway. The wheels and tail are atrocious but these can be sold on.

Why don't you call him? He posted a number.

Post a pic of the ad.

Many here don't subscribe to that site.

Me being one of them. Proud to say I never had a page on there.

I am completely uninterested in a cab of any stripe, and have no desire to find out why he's offering it for sale for so low, other than as an intellectual curiosity. $15k seems REALLY low for any G-body car that is complete, even with a rebuilt title. I ask because I thought maybe someone here knew more about this particular car.

If you're curious, you can sign up for free. If you don't have Facebook already loaded, you can't view the FS ad in any case.

That's why I posted the eBay link, so that those without Facebook could offer insight.

If it's real, and if it's really on Facebook for that amount it's a deal. A first year cab no matter if it's repainted is a deal. I have never seen one so low. If it's been rebuilt it would be nice to know the extent but otherwise it's probably worth $15K all day long. Since there are very few details in the eBay listing it's hard to tell.

Cabs are a hard sell no matter what. Very nice ones go for less than a Targa. However, it being a '83 makes it somewhat special. Obviously he sold off the wheels or the wheels were sold. Could be a good car for someone to get into. Heck I would do it if it wasn't destroyed. The wheels like I said, are awful though.

For 15K? Parts alone would put a decent 911SC beyond 15K..
915 trans + engine + sheet metal + sport seats + interior + wheels, etc..
