Pirelli CN36 values
Hi everyone, I recently acquired a set of Pirelli CN36 175/70/VR15 with tubes.
Date code 3205 (30th week 2005?) Rubber still very good. I was told they have been in storage and mounted but have never been driven on. Any guess as to value? I don't want to drive on them but maybe for a show car? |

I don’t believe cn36’s were made in 2005. 60’s and 70’s, sure....then they went away for a long time, back in production a few years ago. So, either they are very new or very, very old.

I'm pretty sure they are a "re-run" because it says "for vintage car only" and I don't think the originals from a long time ago said that. And I thought that the "3205" referred to 32nd week of 05.

As I recall, that size was only used on Saab 99 EMS, no Porsche ever used it. CN36 were the original Saab fitment, I can't recall any other tire company making that size.

Yes, the 99 EMS as well as the 99, and maybe early 900, Turbo. I would be interested in them for my 99 Turbo if you decide to sell them.

And don’t forget “tube type” designation.
Having owned many Saab 99’s and early 900’s, ems, turbo and GLE, they were never fitted with tubes. And, Pirelli never would have geared up the old production lines to reproduce these tires for such a limited run for those cars....very interesting....

My intention is to sell them (with the tubes as well), I wanted to put a fair value on them. But I think shipping would be quite expensive to your location?

I totally missed the tube type designation. Maybe these were intended for British cars with spoke wheels? What's the consensus of using tube type tires on tubeless rims? I know you can use tubeless tires with tubes on wheels that require tubes but does it work the other way?
And to the OP's original question - I have no idea what they are worth. Shipping wouldn't necessarily be a killer. Just do like the online tire places and strap them in pairs and slap a shipping label on them. Quote:

People are seriously thinking about buying 13 year old tires. Mind. Blown.
