God help us all if AOC isn't put in her place. This is just a twenty something with twenty something thinking. I employed many just like her for decades from the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. Unless you want to support them while they work the social programs with aplomb and expertise, you'd be wise to steer clear. She brings nothing to the table except the desire to instruct how to take more.

Yes, I'm biased. Been there.

I personally think she's a one term wonder. I agree with everything you say. Hell, she doesn't even have an office in her district. She's blaming her landlord. She needs to bring in this guy:

You guys sound just like Roseanne re: AOC.

https://youtu.be/B2k-XW-gYHc

But back to the topic: I was remotely involved in a deal on a very rare pair of cars in a collection in Europe and had my eyes opened as I learned one of the world's foremost restorers recently developed a reputation for "forging" chassis and dressing them up with correct parts. And one of the cars that was for sale for several million had a clone that the collector intended to keep to "save face" after selling off the crown jewel in his collection. I got quite an education in that deal and chose to be involved only if the buyer fully understood the necessity of including the clone in the purchase... Not sure if that deal will ever happen. But in this case, the bad news came out before money exchanged hands.

As these cars became multi million dollar 'investments' the forgers came out of the woodwork.

It’s funny how “she” has to be put in her place. Even funnier that you complain about her “types” yet you went ahead and employed them. What was it affirmative action? If we can accept the dumbass that we have running this Country we can put up with a young ideologist who still has some growing to do.

Now back to the scheduled program.... Hopefully if there is some forgery connected to the suit, the forger will be held accountable.

He had to employ her type. Unfortunately when self employed you don’t have a choice. You simply need to hire a body, so you take what you can get. It’s the sad reality that’s taking place right now. But it’s brought on by a tight labor market.

I was drooling over those crashed Porsche’s about two hours prior to the train hitting them.

Try hiring a server in metro NYC and see who shows up. I don't want to continue down this PARF path however so I'll move on.

Meanwhile Gooding I'm sure goes unscathed in all of this:

There used to be a car show in Ventura County, Cali. These cars were all on display there with EC. My wife and I had been eyeing the black one. All were beautiful cars. We left the show which was down the road from our hotel. As we were leaving our hotel we saw all these blinking lights down the road with emergency vehicles. She asked if we should go down and check it out. I feared somebody really hurt, and wasn't interested in finding out. Later that evening on the local news they showed all these cars were damaged when leaving the show on a car carrier. It was going across a raised railroad crossing and bottomed out. While it was stuck there, efforts were made to contact the authorities to stop the train that was due to cross this location. Needless to say, they failed in getting it to stop. I'm still glad we didn't walk down to check things out. As this site was equally sad!

The problem is like mentioned above about the amazing metal craftsman that is making an all steel speedster for “himself”. 4 owners later it’s been tagged with a vin and being sold as a genuine speedster. 5th owner decided he doesn’t want a $400,000 liability sitting in his garage so he sells it. Who is the perpetrator of the crime? Not the metal craftsman. Not the 2nd,3rd or 5th owner. I’m sure it happens more often than we would like

Makes one wonder if the current buyer found out who the current owner of the original one is..if that’s the case someone will be on the hook for a boatload of cash.

When I collected watches a friend tried to convince me on buying vintage Rolexes, since I didn’t have enough knowledge of that market...I chose to pass. Too many scammers out there.
