How Stable are 997 GT3 RS Prices?
The recent BAT auction has me thinking. Although that one was a bit over priced IMHO. Let’s say you pick a nice manual one up for 130K or so... It has 20K miles.
Is it going to go down, stay the same or appreciate over the next 3 years? Who just cleaned thier crystal ball (easy Rawknees)?

130K for a .2 RS???- only if it's been hit, has high rev count in all ranges with other stories.
Nice ones with decent ownership history 18 -20K mile range are in the 165-175 - and those are sales not asking. So still slightly above the cars MSRP Under 10k miles and they are in the 180 - 190 + range with some still asking above 200K I will buy any .2RS, under 20K miles with decent DME . original paint etc for $130 - please PM me. Who knows. If prices do go down it won't be by much. But if the next big one hits then you will loose your azz on everything you own; If you sell.
If you do find an RS in the $130k range then you will be very safe.

Agreed. They seem to have been coming down from their highs a couple years ago. Lots of options out there for manual GT cars these days though. That being said the 997 GT3/GT3RS are special & one of the best modern Porsches. I prefer them over the 991s. Not a bad place to park you money if you ask me.

If the economy tanks, everything will go down. Aren't we due for a correction?
My .02 is the .1 or .2 RS will be no exception. These are special cars, need to be driven to truly understand how special. Will they appreciate over the next 3 years? - doubt it, at least not worth measuring unless it is super low mileage or special color car. I would stay away from .1 991 RS, a ton of those for sale. I think those will continue to trend downwards as the .2 become available and other P GT cars encroach their performance capabilities. |

I have yet to see a .1 decline to 130k as of yet. I have a very close pulse on the market as I am trying to buy one in the next 12 months. If I saw one for 130k I would already own it. Trust me I am looking daily and multiple times a day nearly everyday. Now, I want a no accident car as well so that could one reason I haven't see any at 130k. I do believe if they fall to that or even less they will be bought up fast.

These will always be appreciated cars. So even if there is a pullback these RS's will hold with perhaps just a slight decline. If your buying to hang onto it and use it for years, then who cares. Typically there's a cost to own a car. In that it's not the norm to drive a car for 3-20 years, and make a fortune at time of sale. I know people who lease a new car every 2 years, not exotics, and they lose sooooo much money. If/when my cars dip in value, I'm way ahead as I've bought and will hold my Porsches forever, and my f-150 and wife's car, we'll own until the wheels fall off. Even the everyday 997 are awesome cars and what a bargain. No turbo's, all analog gauges, a beautifully wrapped steering wheel, a great stainless shift knob, great sport exhaust. I'm just not loving the 992.

I just got an Aqua Blue .2 RS and agree with comments in this thread. I saw one with 25,000 miles that had a lot of track time for $139 and it sold pretty quick at that price.

having owned more GT3/RS than most dealers, I have yet to see a recent RS at 130k without issue. but if you do find one without stories at 130, but it. no need to think.
