I was watching a few minutes of Mecum last night and watched a Corvette sell for $115k. I know nothing about that market but recognized the BS I was hearing.

1st guy: $115k, the market has definitely softened on these cars, but it's still solid.

2nd guy: Even now I consider it well bought. He got a deal at that price.

No, he didn't get a freaking deal. He paid the new market price. It is less than the old market price.

Agreed. Car went double it's initial estimate when it 1st hit the market. The whole Hot Rod Outlaw market has begun to cool and become a little saturated. Solid result for the seller if you ask me.

Why isn't there a thread on the Magnus car?

I’m thinking the same thing.

Maybe it ends up back in Magnus’ garage in a few years at that estimate. LoL

I wonder why the car is such a hot potato and keeps changing hands. Is it buyer’s remorse? Or is the car just not as cool a hot rod as the buyer’s are expecting it to be for 300k? Provenance doesn’t translate to performance, there are far better performing cars that can be had for that kinda money.

Speculators probably. Current seller probably saw this social media post and wanted to cut his loss before it got out of hand

with the MFI, the crummy gas these days where the money to buy it resides (was it twin plugged?) it's likely akin to owning a horse. even if you are not riding it there is still cost in it eating, hoofing, veterinarian care and somebody to pick up it's *****.

it's not like pnutz and his Eveready bunny CIS set up....

Nice wheels.
Congrats to the buyer.

Folks here seems to forget there are many others with ... more money than time.
