Thanks Raw! It took you long enough, but yeah, I 'm gonna check them out, get some feedback from some of my metal head students. I'll take a survey, and listen to some of their sounds.
They sure look young, but I would say that any one of them could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch, and cook you dinner after the event. I can see now how you, like me, caught yellow fever. You just don't have a diagnosis yet. Didn't I already recommend yellow for a dance? Be at peace with it, and DANCE! |
Berns, I have yellow fever, jungle fever, vanilla fever, MMA female fighter fever, and tatted up chic fever - pretty much, anything still drawing breath and not morbidly obese fever!!!

I had a color for the quattroracer a couple of days ago but didn’t have time to post until now. Also I thought it might help bring the thread back home, after the Raw man completely decimated it with all kinds of debauchery.
So here it is – Lavender! Now before all you chumps or chimps as Raw said, start screaming, jumping up and down, heckling, partying and going Ape Nuts, please hear me out, for I’m not done yet. This color was special ordered on his 67S 911 by the PO, who was believed to have a beetle or Ghia in that original color. My friend who has this car, has never found another VW with the color. It looks blue however, and in the light I’ve seen in his photos quite stunning and rare. I can’t post his/these photos due to his privacy, but perhaps someone knows of this color. It could be safe, classic, beautiful and even danceable! Quattroracer might love it, anyone might. Sorry I can’t produce a picture of a Porsche 911 in the color, though I’ve seen this one. bernie |
Oh please post the photo so I can dox him and track him down to congratulate him on having such fabulous taste.

Thanks here’s the interior. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559744952.jpg

I don't know, but the color I just recommended looks nearly the same as your car color. What color is your car? What is/was the original color? The interior color could be changed, yet that might be harder.
With the red interior, yellow ain't gonna work for sure, not Ruf yellow. Silver? I don't know. White or light Ivory? Yeah! I think it would work out. I'm not sure because I don't feel all the variables you have in mind. Some others on the forum, like Raw man will have some better advice than me. Especially those interior decorator types. bernie |
My car is a light gray color though some people have thought that it was gulf blue because the photos make it appear that way. Originally the car was a burnt red or a rusty darker red color when I bought the car it was guards read in the interior was tan.
|
Long ago there was a 76 or 77 turbo carrera I saw for sale in the LA area and it looks very similar to quattrorunner photo.. The owner said he special ordered it . He said the color was called periwinkle!
|
Interesting, my car truly isn’t blue it’s only the lighting that makes it appear so on the screen.

Brandon, don't even consider Moonstone, or I will head to Vegas bringing a can of whoopass with your name on it!!!

Ya I’m not going to paint my car light purple. I once bought a truck sight unseen from a friends dad who was at an auto auction and was colorblind. It was plumb with flames. What a mess.

If so, and you are set to keep that interior, some kind of blue may work, perhaps even blue lavender. There are other colors in those patterns one could match paint to, yet it seems like you'll have to get rid of the seats and panels, or try to accommodate a color that will keep them from sticking out like a sore thumb. I haven't seen such patterns myself. They may be rare and desirable for all I know. You may be intent on keeping them. Obviously you aren't fond of light gray. From a fellow Nevada man, born and raised, that's the best I can do. Let's do lunch next time pass through Vegas which may be within a year or less. bernie |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559830752.jpg This is the color of the car. I like it but am tired of explaining it’s not primer. There is no blue anywhere to be found on the car. I do like blue though it just wouldn’t fit my interior. I love my interior. I put it into the car 5 years ago but the car hasn’t been driven more than 5000 miles since. The car went through an engine change which took about a year after it was put in. So the interior is fresh and looks good still. Even though it’s so old it still hasn’t been completely finished. And now going back date it’s goinf through a couple changes too. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559831091.jpg Sorry if it’s sideways, This is an aluminum interior panel like the long good cars. I’ve added my plaid to it and am in the process of backdating the interior as well. As time moves on I keep adding projects to this. Currently I’m considering welding shut the sunroof! |
Whatever they name the color, it’s wiicked. Primer my arse. That’s awesome.

Oh, I didn't realize you had selected the interior and exterior color yourself. I thought you bought it that way and were looking for a change. Don't second guess yourself, man. The colors go really nicely together. The red interior is a bit bold, but it's offset by the muted gray, and the fact that it's a gray with a blue tint really pulls it together.
The tartan mixes both those colors up, pulling it together even further. I actually think the colors are rather ingeniously matched. |
