I want to punch someone every time I read "G50"

It is specific component of the car.
I hate when put it in the title of their ad.

You know what a title needs?

YEAR MAKE MODEL MILEAGE

How dumb does the following look?
1988 G50 Porsche 911
1988 Boge shocks Porsche 911
1988 Motronic DME Porsche 911
1988 Continental DWS Porsche 911
1988 Bosch Icon Wiper Blades Porsche 911

People look at G50 as a major design shift in 911. I often define cars as a 3.2 915 v 3.2 G50 as they are recognized in that fashion. Personally, I place a higher value on LSD than G50.

I agree w/ the chill....... must be tough all over when your hobby makes you postal........

What's a tiptronic ?

Alan A 07-11-2019 02:01 PM

It’s a gearbox for people with only one foot I think.

Matt Monson 07-11-2019 02:06 PM

It's not often I'm speechless.

He does, but this isn’t one of them. This is so catastrophically stupid we should all just ignore it.

How much should I ask for my ‘83 930 targa with G50?

Depends on how well the conversion work was done. Its a major project to put a G50 in an 83. Who did the body conversion to wide body? Hows the quality of that work? Need more details than what you gave us to price the car.

It's a category that says "Do not bother opening this ad."

It makes me glad, knowing that I only have an R50- 50! I don't have to take sides here. When I thought of selling it, I knew I'd have to replace it with a G50. Looking around at all the G50 listings out there over time I have to admit, it was a bit confusing. One was left with a decoding task or more inquiry. I thought maybe an 01 or 02 etc. after the G50 would be helpful, just to give Sugar a little support here. Even 964/993 are G50 I think, but different configuration from the 911. Gonna keep my gearbox now so I'm good.

You forgot SPORTOMATIC!!

speednme1 07-12-2019 08:04 AM

A G50 is a desirable transmission for some especially if you are not familiar for which years they were made. Example: If a newbie goes shopping for an old school 911, he may have buddies who tell him to make sure it’s a G50...so the title tells the potential buyer that is a later G body 911. I don’t see a problem....

nathanbs 07-12-2019 09:05 AM

I think this is a much deeper issue and has to do with Sugarteets inability and subsequent frustration to find the G-spot.
