No kidding....but I was accused of moving the goal post...which I’m not. These “cool down prices” “price drop” threads are getting old. The OP’s need to put up or shut up...let’s see a thread with actual purchase prices...with photos and descriptions of the cars they (the sky is falling pushers) have purchased for under $30k. Let’s see a thread “I just bought a great Aircool for under $30k” I’ll wait with popcorn in hand:rolleyes:

Rey,
Vaive has been trolling this forum for a month or more at this point he’s praying for a market crash and is posting crap while he waits.

Matt I speculate these “trolls” just hope for that under “$30k” price in the hopes of picking p a bargain they can flip. If so, I can guarantee we won’t see them posting their purchase price:D

I suggested earlier in this thread that he gets his jollies with this whole exercise and my position has not changed. his keyboard must be a sticky man sauce mess.

He’s a house flipper, so no doubt he wants to do the same with cars. Maybe he already is with another username.

I have spent another $8,000 on my car; rebuilding my heating system, installing a battery, tuning the engine, adjusting the valves and installing a rebuilt 915 gear box w/ LSD. This puts me at $60,000 splurged on my 86 Carrera I bought for $34,000.......

I am blessed...... who cares where the market is...... these cars are to be enjoyed and then handed off to others who will share your enthusiasm.

We are here in PMD to help other enthusiasts buy great cars to enjoy while protecting them from poor decision making.

"OFF"Valve will never understand...... despite our occasional emotional flare ups the vast majority here get it.......

Got to say this car looks like a great deal at $27k. Surprised Vaive hasn't mentioned it for his thesis.

I have my 88 coupe sold .... I need to find something to replace it with.... falling prices are welcome but I can see myself getting into Mac's situation. I buy a $30k driver and then spend two years making it a $55k or more car that I'll never be able to sell for that price.

Pretty sure the seats and phone dials are original which I like. Paint doesn't look bad but no mention of respray etc. The photos & representation are sub par to say the least and most likely held this car back. Engine/Interior look real clean for the mileage. Chrome targa bar needs to go without saying. Tranny rebuild is plus also. Still feel like the buyer got a very good deal if there no major mechanical needs.

This whole thread that the sky is falling isn't constant with the legendary 911. They used to say don't bet against the American economy and for good reason. Not a good example mind you, yet not many would, even in this era!

Market prices change, fluctuate as normal, as a pattern. Why make a mountain out of a mole hill? The car will never go out of demand unless WWIII hits us. If and when that happens, you, me and the next guy might be more worried about a house that has lost any value it had, if you had a house.

Granted, this OP thinks the sky is falling. Been around a few bends (in the river) in my time on the planet. This idea the sky is falling is a lot of baloney IMO. If one can garnish that things do change, including value or price, it's only a feather in one's cap.

^^^ well said.

Dropping prices on ratty cars and BaT results are no reason to assume anything. Most every car I have seen sell on BaT has needed extensive work. For some reason many of them end up by me and I look at a lot of them. The best ones need only $10k the worst have racked up $50k in repairs.

matt930s 11-23-2019 05:54 AM

That’s why this is the chicken little thread.
