Japanese Classics has been bringing in a lot of SUVs and VIP-type cars lately, where a few years ago they were almost exclusively sporty cars. They currently don't have any sports cars in stock, closest thing is a couple of low-trim Skylines.

let not even get started on how much it takes to get a landcruiser. Nick has one that im not sure what it's worth, but they are akin to the 911 in how they've held their value, and even increased over what they were new 25 years ago. |

The FJ60's and FJ62's (1980's) have more recently gone up in value. Mine, an 88 FJ62, would go for $40-60K or more on BaT, depending on who wanted it. An original owner truck is all the more valuable today. Hysterical really, when all I wanted was a 4 wheel drive wagon for my wife to haul the kids around in back in the late 80's. There were no SUV's back then , so it was this or a Wagoneer, and I never liked Jeeps. |

that mid 80's waggy (what we jeep folk call the wagoneer) has axles that would be worth $4-5K for the pair right about now. very desired for older, leaf spring suspended jeeps like mine. wished you'd bought a waggy that was all rusted out cause getting those axles would be like catching a unicorn in a home made trap... |

Trend is to the contrary based on what I said. Certainly there are cars still here in the wood piles that eventually come up at auction, for years to come, but very few and far between on the mentioned cars. Don't forget either those cars can go to other markets too and not the USA -- many bidders here from all over the world. I will consult some of my friends who daily buy cars at auction, the cars you mentioned and give you some feedback on that. If you can produce some auction sheets or name the importers you talk about we can compare data. How about that? If I'm wrong, I don't mind losing. I've always been a very competitive sports player when I was younger, yet if I lost, I was a good loser. |
Oh Bernie...

I've been posting cars to the JDM thread for years. Go look at JDM Classics for yourself and see what they are bringing in. I don't care one bit what you think is happening. The 25 year rule has expired and people in the States want, and are buying, all kinds of cars right now. SmileWavy |

You have shown yourself not to be a very good listener. I never said anything about GTRs or V-Specs or anything special. Those cars were never autos in the first place. What I said is that they are bringing in Skylines, Supra’s and Zs with autos and many in the younger generation see the auto as a good thing. And somehow we end up here...
Here’s an example for you. https://www.japaneseclassics.com/vehicle/1994-nissan-skyline-type-g-limited/?fbclid=IwAR2EaoYPPPJvfmtclYJQ5AyGwHsDe_uC8zrbeOPu Mp44KRyfEjq2xl3z0EI It’s nothing special. It’s not $60k like a GTR would be. Cars like this, and Integras, and Silvias, etc etc are all coming over in slushboxes. Cars that once had zero enthusiasts interested now are interesting to guys who can’t drive a stick. |
