Lastly a live auction is not good either unless you can see the car. A friend bought a 2007 Carrera S and is very disappointed in the purchase
I had a big problem with selling my 911 on Bring a Trailer where a user named wgwollet won my auction and then less than 24 hours later, without ever seeing the car, told me he could not get a loan to buy the car. It blew my entire auction, cost me thousands in the end as I had to quick sale elsewhere. You can't relist there for months as any reauction will go for far less money. I needed it sold right away as my son was in the hospital. This fellow continues to buy and sell things too elsewhere though he was banned from BaT after he ruined it for me. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-porsche-911s-13/

We have had that happen only twice in over 200 cars. In both cases BAT was willing to relist the car nearly right away. I have also seen them relist in very short order for others many times. Sorry to hear that happened.

One of the cars was a Ferrari 612 so bat made nearly $10k on the two listings in short order.

William wollet is a member here and one of the strangest worst people to deal with, very shady character , sorry he ruined your auction for you , he’s been banned on a few different platforms.

The deal he had to sell the car probably fell through so he walked away from the deal with you.

Never been band, and his car was misrepresented, so I told them.
Stutt911 you tried to band me on Pano, for no good reason per PCA rules, because I refused your stupid offer.
You are the worst.

Is there anybody willing to stand up and say anything nice about this Wollet guy? His posts make my head hurt, he's an A1 shiite slinger, and now we find out that he's backed out of winning auction. Dick move, and worth a permanent stay in the penalty box IMO.

Mods, is this the kind of guy we want here?

I personally believe Mr. Wollet isn't making errors per say in the language of English, rather they are developmental errors, such as a child would make even in the L1 (native or first language). As an EFL teacher I can assist him (M. Ed, in TESOL) and so can all of you. A few times I wanted to ask him what country he's from or his native tongue to get a bearing on what kind of language transfer he might carry with him (L1 transfer error). I didn't though because it might come off as discriminatory. By the way William, where ya from? (or your parents)?

Grammar or spelling are just developmental and we can all assist rather than tease. Regarding the BAT auction stiff, I don't know what happened there. Could be that Mr. Wollet forgot to bring his wallet that day and just stiffed the guy out of necessity. Not pretty or gentlemanly in any regard.

If William Wallace were here instead, he would shout FREEEEEDOOOM!! albeit in perfect English, with a perfect Scottish accent.

Bernie,
You're too much. Some of us use word play and humor to diffuse the drama and distract. If I wanted to rip on his poor grammar I would. I was making a silly joke. Nobody is bullying him...

I was quoting dwelle, not you. Why so defensive?

I didn't take your comments personally at all. I speak in the "I".

Sorry, I am from Germany, my English in HS was substandard
I do know Dutch, German and French fluently, which helps mostly in France ordering my food.

This forum is not here to bash people, it’s to learn about Porsches. Many treads get high jacked by people having an axe to grind, without merit.
