Can you someday, do a detailed explanation of converting a C4 to a C2. And do you think the C2 Tip is worth converting to a manual? There is a You Tube guy in the UK that converted his 89 C4 to a C2, but he installed a part on the transmission side to the front drive. Is there a kit out there for conversation.
I remember Abreu Motors backdated a 964 Coupe Tip and it was extremely hard to sell but it sold. I do not see backdating cars to look like long hoods, but that seems to be in today, will it continue?

I have several threads on rennlist regarding the conversion. The UK car is also fully documented there. I have no issue converting them as a track car or what my next project will be, a true factory clone of a 3.8RSR. I have nearly all the parts including original intake and the factory RSR speedlines and full supply of 965 body parts. It just took me 4 years to find a suitable donor car. The engine will be a bit more than the original RSR since modern technology has moved on.
Doing the RWD 5 speed conversion properly is a bit of work and transmissions these days are crazy expensive. At least $9k for a decent 5 speed and more for a 6 speed especially with gear swaps. The trans that DanJ just sold was a bargain I wish I had the extra cash to burn right now but too many projects going on at once.
IMO the 964 does not lend well to backdates but that is a personal preference.
I am currently working on this and my slick top conversion on my 93 C2. I am open to suggestions. It is never easy making a one off car from scratch with all custom parts like this, but I do it to keep from boardroom in my retirement years.
