All the 4s are coming up.

If you've never owned or driven a 912, you can't appreciate one. Bigger isn't always better. They're fun and have a group of owners that can relate to each other. Much more reminiscent of 356's than 911's.

So yes, would most guys want a $70,000 really nice 912, or a well sorted 911, the 911 would win most arguments, but these aren't the guys who are chasing the "perfect" car, or have a stable of perfect cars. You have to understand the whole market, to understand the market. ---Adam |

i'm not in the top 10% of the market but i did exactly this. i have a '92 964 C2 and i bought an original paint '67 912 and i love it. i have had SWB 911's and the 912 is definitely a better handling car but even if it wasn't it's still a lot of fun to own and drive. |
I remember in and around 98' buying a red SWB 912 in Reno for 3K. I was on a trip home from Japan so not much time to spend with it. I do remember how well it handled, 4 wheel disc brakes, 5 speed. Not the same power of a 911, but who would know it wasn't? It had the same look and was real fun to cruise in and oh so smooth!

I think that I would have to have more than $70k for my 912...
Its a great Porsche. I was actually pretty happy with the 90HP factory build but a leaking rear main seal let me update the engine to now 130HP. That is equal to 911's of the era and is more than enough to move this lighter better handling chassis in a serious way. Anyhow I have a 911 too and find that I am equally attracted to both. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616963844.jpg $70k 912? I think we all need to get use to it. |

i was stopped by the police once - well many times actually - and,
"nice car" he says, "how fast will that go anyway?" i said, "i don't know but i think it will do 35 in the city and 65 on the highway." |
