Ok, spent 30 minutes on the phone today with the scheduler at my orthopedic surgeon's office and it's official. I will be getting a new right hip Wed, 2/15/23.

Lots of info provided about the process leading up to the event. Classes to attend, medical test to be taken prior to, and yes, I did select a date post Super Bowl by design.

You’ll do just fine. I have several runner friends who have one or both done. A year later they were back to running marathons.

started bothering me last spring and has gotten progressively worse since. was to the point I could barely walk at times. got a cortisone shot in late oct. that helped significantly, but as I was told it could only last 4-8 weeks and it is clearly wearing off now. still not as bad as it was and i am supplementing the shot with prescribed anti-inflammatories & ice regularly.

it was only a matter of time really. family tradition as both my pops and sister have each had both done over the years. genetic defect called a femoral impingement that causes the femur ball to grow out of round over the years that wears the cartilage til it's bone on bone. my left side in the x-rays still looks pretty good, the right is shot.

That sounds painful. Hopefully the new parts will restore full mobility. In the meantime you can be thankful for that cushy coil spring ride on your new JK !

Great b/day picture, LJ. I think you need to treat her to some of the song/vids I've posted here - I see another potential metalhead in the making!

Love how you already have a dog bed in the back of your new ride, Tobs! Good wishes about your hip replacement next February. If all goes well, do you intend to post a video of you swiveling your hips like a boss (while wearing only a loincloth)? Asking for Dr. Phatt!

Dayuuummnnnn, Deez, I'm surprised to read how you punted the Snow Blower on down the road! You suck, bigly, Bro!

More of a ball joint job with control arm bushings job.

Picking crab legs with my kid for the first time. It’s been since Rennsport that I last had Dungeness crab. This is why I need to move back near to the ocean.

Gorgeous views guys!

Matt, apparently there are thousands of Blue crab right off our dock that people come from miles around to catch and cook. I have yet to partake as the wife won't cook them up, but I hear they're delicious!

It’s called the Devil’s Backbone, and I use it as my own private Stonehenge. At sunset, we get alpenglow

This was the spring equinox this past year.

There used to be a gypsum mine there, but now it’s one of the county parks where I run. Seen from the park side, you can look west towards the high peaks. This one is it framing Longs Peak and Mt Meeker.

Best way to catch them is chicken in a drop net; best way to boil them is to fill a pot with a cheap beer and add old bay seasoning. They are done when they get the orange tint…

I was tempted to say something about not needing a woman to cook them, and all you really need is a big old pot of boiling water. Guess I just succumbed to temptation…
