Pricing Used Parts Fairly

I know this is not the right place to post this, but can’t see any better. So anyway…I’ve got a few nice parts that I just don’t know the value of. I would like to price fairly for both me as seller and for the buyer.

I know I can search to see previous sales, but this isn’t always helping. I’ve tried searching all the forums for help on this topic. And you’re not supposed to post in parts for sale forum without a price.

Is there somewhere on one of the forums to get informed opinions on fair prices for a specific part or parts?? Any suggestions appreciated.

Ebay. Bidding. Whoever wants it most gets it. That's what I do.

Thanks. Hadn’t really thought of that. Was hoping to keep it in-house with Pelican, but your approach should almost always yield fair prices. Hate those eBay fees though.

This is why people are supposed to keep the sold price posted instead deleting them with that stupid "$old" statement.

Theoretically you should be able to key word search the FS/WTB forum and track the ask and bids for any particular item. It's more work than posting to fleabay but it stays "in-house" as desired.

Try posting here asking for value. I've done it before and gotten plenty of feedback.

I tried that here 3-4 days ago. 126 views, not one feedback. Maybe not a good forum for vintage parts though, H1 lenses 69 911 for a US or German model, right road lane, left hand drive car. 007 most vintage on last 3 digits part no. Good luck with what you have. Got a sportomatic shift knob but didn't even throw that out there. I would feel ashamed to do so on this forum.

Thanks guys. I’m making progress now. And hey - Sportmatics had their own charm, right?

Post pictures and give the best specifics you can and you’ll get feedback. You’ll also get private message offers. Assume those offers are wholesale.

Also, don't be like 356RS and sell damaged parts while hiding it in photos.

eBay sucks now, crazy fees, better off in the forums. Look at other parts for sale and come up with an average.

Yeah. Among other things, the explosion of scammers, bad actors, etc. all over the internet in the last few years is incredible.

Another alternative to consider is to sell the entire lot of parts. That way you don't have to worry about researching prices and descriptions, dealing with buyers and tire kickers.
