Value on ‘69 s motor

Hi I’m looking for insight on value on this 1969 s motor. My plan with it is only to use as a practice motor to disassemble and assemble to learn and prepare for the rebuild of my ‘79sc motor when the time comes. There is no known history so assume core motor.
Thanks

Why is the fan shroud the wrong color?

Maybe post the type number and serial number to verify?

Personally, if it’s an S, it is likely worth more as it sits than after you tear it down and put it back together. Anyone shopping for a real S engine for a restoration or hot rod is going to rebuild it again and not trust your work.

6404214. I have no history so no clue on shroud color or anything else. I would use it to get a feel for taking apart and reassembling but was just curious if any value. Thanks.

No history or anyone to ask about that, I’d like to know where the rest of the car is as well…

No such number. It’s probably 610, which would be a 1970 T engine. The shroud is the right color for that. Type number should be 901/03.

$3-4k? Carbs are worth about a grand and the longblock is the balance of the value.

Matt - 6390793 but 901/10. Was a 2.0 when I got it years ago, correct? Went to a C&C this morning and had 69 parts pointed out. Some I knew, some I didn't.

That’s a 69 S engine.

What I was told when I got it and over the years. Just figured you might know. One of those stories when you swap cars for a weekend and I ended up with the pink slip. Back then in CA they were literally pink.

Makes sense. It does have a 914-6 oil cooler.

914/6 thanks for the info. If I was able
To mate it with a chassis without a transmission.. what’s it worth now? I really wanted a Porsche motor to practice on but scenario is making this interesting.

More specifically yet this would be from a 1970 914-6 in USA spec and fairly early in the production run. Maybe in the first 300 cars. Even so, as a rebuildable core 4k max.

Yeah, my value doesn’t change with it being a 914/6. It’s basically the same thing as a 69T.

Practice on it without much concern. Once it’s turn down, it’s the case with the serial number that might be of value to some 914/6 owner.

You may want to post the number on 914world.com once you have it. There are guys looking to reunite their factory 6 cars to the original engine.

Still looking for 4371 Not many 914-6 owners really want the 2.0 in the car. More of a shelf critter to say you have it.
