Stick those amplilux units inside some 66-67 housings with clear cover lenses. Will give the car a very cool look

Just spent a few hours trying to work out how to combine the original LHD H4's, the Hella 19 20 21 bits (from Bob Tilton) plus my RHD Amplilux lamps and I'm very pleased with the results:

Now just need those Danial Stern relays :)

Martin,
I had a 1970S that was painted Champaign Yellow. The color looked exactly like the pic of your left fender pictured above. I'm sorry that I don't know the color number. At the time I was told by John Paterack (paint & body PCA tech resource) that it was a 356 color.

Thanks Gordon, I'm certainly pleased with the Hella lens & buckets which I purchased from Bob Tilton over on Early911s.

I love the work that is being done on this replica, lot of nice little touches that reinforce its authenticity and personality. Great job!

RS Carpets

It was a nice sunny day today, so decided to finish (ably assisted by my son, James) the RS Carpet install - not perfect but will certainly do the job :)

Thanks Matteo - looking forward to seeing your 74 RSR this year :)

Took the old girl out for a run to Alan at Canford Classics in Bournemouth today and decided on the way home that the car certainly isn't yellow

Bremteks:

Great 'competition' brakes for a standard 911 fitment, however the pads chatter like hell on our great British roads so regretfully I will soon be swapping them out for a set of newly refurbished 930 calipers.

Interesting to compare the brake pads of the 930 vs the Bremteks caliper pads on the right :)

Martin,
This is a really neat story of a great car and I love how you've included your son prominently throughout. I hope you guys enjoy it.

I love the shift knobs. I have one in my '73. The funny part is that I was told that they were 917 replicas. I have access to two different 917s. Neither one has a shifter knob like that that. Go figure.

Now if you really want to be cool drill your key full of holes. The 917 that raced at LeMans still has the key with all the holes in it.

Speaking of clones - this dealer is asking $85,000 for a 1972 RS Clone. Any thoughts?

Martin,
Just read through this thread again, great job and thank you keeping us updated and sharing.
Just my 2cents, I think the script looks great and I would keep the duck. Your car just looks "right", if you know what I mean.
A great looking car that your "TWEEKING" continues to improve upon.
Enjoy and again, thank you for sharing.
