Cool '89 951--*real world* values

Hi,

I have a chance to buy a very low-miles '89 951 for about $15K. Stock except for a chip and dual-wastegate. Less than 40K miles, belts, water pump, etc. done fairly recently. I see nice examples of these cars advertised for prices ranging from $16-20K (usually with higher miles, but still well-maintained and nice examples). IF they are actually selling for that much then this one would be pretty much a no-brainer, but my question is ARE THEY? Excellence's market value on an "excellent" car is only $14.4K. Anybody here with real-world examples (or even educated guesses) about what the market is like for these cars? My thinking on this car would that it would be a nice candidate for a weekend driver/PCA event/fun car that probably stands a very good chance of holding its value but still fairly easy to sell if I get the urge to move on. Oh, and of course, by the time taxes, registration and transport are figured in the *real* price of the car will be more like $17K!

I'd been shopping for another Boxster S, or possibly a first 911 (964 models...), but it's not often that such a low-miles '89 951 comes up.....so I'm a little torn....
