The final price was $181,500 including buyers premium and that car has a replacement case restamped to original engine number. Google Gooding and Company to get to realized prices from the auction. I was following the bike prices closely and was at Barber Motorsports Park Auction by J. Wood & Co. Saturday eve to see the unrestored 1913 Flying Merkel auctioned there bring $130,000 Daron |

Hmmm, this seems to fly in the face of some "conventional wisdom". Weren't the prices of early cars going to always escalate? Kind of like houses? More comments on this sale here:
