1980 Porsche 911SC Weissach Value

What is the going prices for these limited production cars. Is there a range that they have been getting on this board or ebay.

Condition: Good running, black metallic color, Clean, less than 80k. 100% original and real.

I look forward to hearing some prices.
Thanks,
MrBMW2002

Maybe a year or so ago, there were several for sale on this board. IIRC, prices were in the upper teens for cars with some mileage on them (hovering at or above 100k).

You would suspect that since the Weissach option was strictly a cosmetic option and not a performance enhancing option, the premium for these cars would be small. Based on last year's cars for sale, there was quite a bit of premium the sellers wanted for their cars.

In the spring of 2006, I called on a Weissach in my area with under 100k on the clock and in seemingly very nice shape. It was priced at $13k. It sold immediately.

I would suspect you could pay $1000 or more for this option over a comparable '80 SC IF the car is nice.

Good luck,

Jay

Only a few grand more for the option. The wider fuchs (if I remember right, that was part of the edition) alone warrant a premium. And if it's a pristine car, the weissach factor will count more than if it is a tired average car.

I know two people that have the Weissach edition.
The paint and matching wheels is one factor and the rest is interior color matched carpet, and seats. No performance mods unless you consider the tail which is the factory tail.
Yes maybe a few grand more than a regular sc if it is in excellent shape.

I have seen an SC for sale that claims a 3.2 factory racing engine option for 1983. Was such an option offered?

In my 11+ years of being around these cars, looking at sales brochures, judging cars and being on these web boards, I have not heard about a 3.2 option for a street car. That's not to say that it doesn't exist.

I have a factory sales brochure (US market) from 1983 and there is no mention of a different engine choice for an option for model year 1983. However, the ROW models probably had different options.

However, Peter Morgan's book does list an option code for a high output Turbo motor that was available for the 3.2 Carreras. Whether or not that option code was ever used or made available is another thing...

My point is that any claim of a 3.2 racing engine as a factory option for an SC needs some pretty good proof verses taking someone's word for it that is selling a car...

In 83 the SC's 3.0 came with the same case the 3.2 had a year later through 89. That case has only a drain plug but no sump plate. Maybe this throws people off?

Although it's basically only a cosmetics packages (arguably the spoilers are a bit more than cosmetics), the Weissach does have somewhat of a small cult following.

If you find the right person, you can get a good premium for a Weissach.

Less than 80K miles, if it is in really good all original condition, I think you can get $5K-$7K more than a non-Weissach, IF you find the right person. So instead of low to mid teens, I think you'd be looking at very high teens to low twenties. IF.
